Poison ivy is a plant you need to recognize and to avoid when you go into nature for a walk because if touched it can cause severe pain and itchiness.

It is also extreme discomfort especially if you are very sensitive to it.

Dr. Jim Brauker has spent the last 25 years doing a study about skin inflammation as a biomedical scientist .And now he has his fair share of experiences of poison ivy.

Fortunately for all of us , he’s devised a clever way to prevent poison ivy and poison oak rashes from occurring.
Here we have a video in which Dr. Brauker will explain what is the best possible way to stop the rashes.
He recommends that if you come into contact with poison ivy, you have to wash off the oil from your skin as soon as possible and it has to be done before 8 hours from the contact passes.

You can use soap, cold water, and a gentle washcloth, to get rid of the oil “urushiol” .Having washed cloth to create friction, will do the trick.

REMEMBER:
Don’t use hot water because it opens up your pores and allows all the urushiol to get into your system.

This may mot look important now,but knowing it won’t do harm especially if you are a hiking lover.

Now you can explore the outdoors and enjoy nature all prepared and wrap up in information .
